Case Study: Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture (MEWA)

The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture (MEWA), wanted to deliver a next-generation employee experience as part of a full HR Transformation project. This meant hiding the HR systems that no longer served their employees, had low adoption rates, poor usability and came at a high cost in order to achieve their goals for a new digital HR environment. The Applaud team and local integration partner, Apps Pro worked closely with MEWA to drive their vision for a seamless digital HR experience, with one central employee environment. Ambitiously, MEWA intended to migrate 120 HR Services into their new Applaud environment including:
In order to facilitate the deployment that was completely customized to MEWAs specifications, a product consultant was permanently situated in the MEWA offices for 1 year. This meant that MEWA could fulfil its ambition of continually innovating and implementing user feedback.
With such a huge change in the employee experience, MEWA executed a large internal launch for the platform which included a conference for all Ministry employees.
Critically, when COVID-19 hit MEWA were well-positioned to communicate quickly and efficiently with their entire workforce. They took an agile approach to disseminate information and ensure that personalised, relevant content hits each individual, keeping everyone informed and safe.
