Delivering a next-generation employee experience as part of a HR transformation project

The Applaud team and local integration partner, Apps Pro worked closely with MEWA to drive their vision for a seamless digital HR experience, with one central employee environment. Ambitiously, MEWA intended to migrate 120 HR Services into their new Applaud environment including:

• Absence and leave booking 
• Overtime logging and approvals
• Business travel

In order to facilitate the deployment that was completely customized to MEWAs specifications, a product consultant was permanently situated in the MEWA offices for 1 year. This meant that MEWA could fulfil its ambition of continually innovating and implementing user feedback.

With such a huge change in the employee experience, MEWA executed a large internal launch for the platform which included a conference for all Ministry employees.

Critically, when COVID-19 hit MEWA were well-positioned to communicate quickly and efficiently with their entire workforce. They took an agile approach to disseminate information and ensure that personalised, relevant content hits each individual, keeping everyone informed and safe. 

Outcomes:

MEWA truly embodied an employee-centered approach to HR. The outcome is a digital experience that works around the needs of employees and managers whilst giving HR the outputs they need to manage a truly efficient workforce:

• MEWA were able to shut down Oracle self-services with new, improved versions on their Applaud platform.
• They achieved 100% adoption on their desktop platform and are phasing in their mobile app one department at a time.
• Employee efficiency improved throughout the Ministry with cleaner, intuitive navigation, easy to use services, and a full knowledge base.
• Employee satisfaction with the system was 90% within the first 6 months.
