Advantage Solutions implemented Applaud to achieve a simplified employee experience for their Oracle HCM


Advantage Solutions went live on Oracle E-Business Suite in 2011, hosted using Oracle Managed Cloud Services. Advantage Solutions implemented HR, Payroll, Time & Labor and deployed standard Self-Service for standard employee and manager tasks complemented by custom built pages for time entry


The employees and managers found the screens difficult to use, navigation around the system was difficult with many different responsibilities confusing the staff.

Areas of struggle include:

  • Why are there so many navigation points?
  • Why can’t I access Oracle on my mobile device?
  • Can the desktop app be modernized?
  • Why are there too many clicks to get things done?


Advantage Solutions wanted screens that were simpler to use but also took advantage of the additional functionality that Applaud offers over and above standard Oracle such as:

  • Organization Charting
  • Improved Employee Directory with a google-style search and LinkedIn-style filtering of results
  • ‘Welcome screen’ that introduces news and surveys when people log in
