In 2015 Oracle E-Business Suite had been a long-standing core HR system used throughout Allseas, but with a need for increased functionality and faster innovation, Allseas were seeking a more agile solution.

Challenge

The dynamic nature of the business meant that frequent changes and modifications to the Oracle system were in constant demand but, frustratingly, Allseas found that the changes were slow to implement due to several factors including, internal processes they needed to follow, the complexity of the system and the skill set needed to update it.

Faced with modifications that had become difficult to manage and keen to take control, Allseas looked to a self-service system that could help them enhance their Oracle E-Business Suite and innovate faster by moving development in-house.

Solution

After extensive research into the employee experience market, Applaud stood out as the only solution that could give Allseas the control they needed to make enhancements with ease and maximum efficiency.

Plugged into Oracle, Applaud helped the team build on pre-defined business formats by introducing features including:

Employee self-service for submitting and updating employee details, leave absences,
and weekly timecards
Built-in appraisal processes
Salary and benefit modification for HR
Cross-departmental workflows and approvals

With its employees located across different locations globally, including on large vessels at sea, Applaud’s workflows have allowed Allseas to become one of the first to use personalization to make information visible to users based on specific criteria, including geographical location.

Applaud’s workflows transformed how HR collaborated with the business and saw a significant efficiency increase, giving them the freedom to work on more strategic projects.

Adoption rates also increased and employee satisfaction went up above expected levels in the first six months.
